Forever
Menu

Compare Forever's professions by what they contribute to a campsite, their first object at skill 20, upgrade paths, and the recipes behind each craft.

Blizzard is adding over 600 new recipes across professions and level ranges, crafted food that can grant a small experience bonus and stat boosts, and advanced Blueprint recipes that drop from dungeon bosses (Deep Dive recap). Every profession also earns a role at the new campsites.

Pick around what you want to craft or gather first, then check which camp buff your regular group is missing. A second copy of a buff you already have is less useful than repairs or a rested-XP top-up.

Object names, skill levels and upgrade paths below come from Blizzard's BlizzCon material and the current beta build; expect tuning before the November 4 launch.

What every profession gets

  • Three campsite objects for most professions, unlocked as you skill up. Most start at skill 20 (the basic Cooking fire only needs skill 1), from a camping NPC or your trainer; Cooks also get an Iron Oven station at 300. Later objects come from Blueprint recipes that drop from specific dungeon bosses.
  • A buff or utility effect. Every profession provides its own buff or utility no matter which object you place.
  • New recipes across the 1–60 trip. The 600+ additions span professions and level ranges, and dungeon bosses drop crafting Blueprints.
  • Legacy support for your tradeskill. The Professions tree carries perks such as Bountiful Harvest, Master Chef and Working Overtime. Legacy Points are shared across your alts, but each character spends its own, up to 16 at launch.
  • Food with a real buff line. The previewed crafted foods carry a small XP bonus on top of its stat buff, and camps are the natural place to refresh it.

Exact effects, the tiers between 20 and 300, and the buffs that do not stack with class buffs are in the camping guide.

The trade-offs

Each player contributes one object. A basic fire holds three special objects, so filling one takes several people. If you want larger camps, someone has to level Cooking: the fire grows from three features to five at skill 140 and ten at 220.

Campsite stats replace class buffs — they don't add to them. Blizzard's rule is that these effects are variants of class buffs and do not stack with them. The value of an object depends on what your group is missing — a Mana Well earns its slot when nobody brings the matching regeneration buff.

Utility objects keep the group moving. Alchemists, Leatherworkers, Blacksmiths, Tailors, Enchanters and Engineers can place workstations and reagent makers, and Engineering adds reagent and repair vendors. If your group hates flying back to town mid-session, that utility is the draw.

Gathering pours into the Legacy tree. Bountiful Harvest adds 20–100% more Scarce materials from Mining, Herbalism and Skinning, so that perk is worth a look if you spend a lot of time gathering. It boosts Scarce materials, not every ore, herb or leather drop.

Cooking splits into personal and social halves. Your food buff is yours; the campfire you place decides how many other people can contribute.

Picking yours

  • Match your first object to a buff your group keeps lacking: Intellect, Spirit, Stamina, mana regeneration, melee Attack Power or crit.
  • If you camp with the same people, plan three different professions — one object per player, and duplicate buffs won't stack.
  • You only need Cooking 1 to place the basic fire yourself. Someone with higher Cooking can place a larger one.
  • Crafters get the 600+ recipes and dungeon Blueprints, including level-up gear such as Crusader's Boots (skill 85), Officer's Pauldrons (210) and Enriched Thorium Breastplate (300) from the BlizzCon Blacksmithing slide.
  • Alt levelers and gatherers should read the Legacy tree first; Well Rested and Bountiful Harvest change how much your leveling and gathering sessions get out of professions.
